The Gals

Welcome to our blog!

We are three young women embarking on a cross Canada cycling trip! We will be starting May 5th from Victoria, B.C, making our way

East to St John’s, Newfoundland, spanning over >7000km. We are planning to stay mostly in campsites, but will indulge now and then in a roof over our heads (be it a hotel/motel/holiday inn, friends/family, or couchsurfing/warm showers). We will be carrying all our gear on our bikes, including tents and camping equipment.

This is by faaaar our biggest cycling adventure yet, and, after a LOT of planning and practice, we are so excited to get rolling!

Feel free to contact us with any questions or comments, and please check out our fundraising pages along the side bar!

Thank you!

Day 88: (July 31) Trois Rivieres to Quebec City 127.4km

We said goodbye to the Trois Rivieres gang in the morning. We had a long day ahead of us to Quebec City, where we were staying with our friend Sam Gagnon, another Nomininguer. Along the 138 we went, enjoying the views and the towns along the way, stopping for a treat now and then at a casse-croûte.
When we got to Quebec City, it was dark and hard to navigate. Many of the streets are one way and we have found the traffic lights in Quebec to be a little confusing. Once we found our way we faced a hill that was very steep. We are ashamed to say that we had to walk our bikes up a hill for the first time since British Columbia. Once we got to Sam's, he made us a delicious vegetarian dinner and we met his girlfriend Jasmine! Sam and Jasmine live in an incredible old area downtown with walkups and narrow streets, feeling very close to Europe.
